You're Already Paying for Tree Care: but is it Triage or Well-Being that you're buying?
Unfortunately, we also live in an age where industries rely on treating problems after they arise. For many industries, the very existence of problems have become the solution to profit. And the tree care industry is no different.
To make matters more difficult, Wyoming and many western states do not regulate the professional standard of the tree care industry as they do plumbing, electrical, nursing, or education. Uninformed workers that have not proved a level of competence or knowledge to the public, are allowed to provide services that affect long term tree health, public safety, and the aesthetics of our community on a daily basis.
Informed tree care practices exist to provide you with healthy long-lived trees, safe trees and tree spaces, and a natural aesthetic; and the aim is to get it right the first time at the least possible cost. I know you don't want to spend more than you have to spend. I know you don't want to waste precious time establishing a shade tree, only to see it lost to a preventable and well-documented occurrence.
I know that for your time and investment, you want the longest-lived and healthiest tree suited for that location; and that you want to get there for the lowest cost possible.
Why spend $300 planting a tree that will only last ten years or cost you thousands in maintenance or remediation, when you can spend $300 to water one that can stand there for three hundred years without extraordinary maintenance. Why remove a tree based on an unqualified recommendation, when retention might be possible and the cost of removal, avoided.
When it comes to trees, there's no reason we can't demand this sort of return for our investment! We're dealing with organisms that can live for centuries, if not indefinitely.
I want you to enjoy your landscape. I want you to experience the joy and peace, the sense of vitality that comes from a healthy, safe, and beautiful treescape - without the unnecessary fuss.
As one of Wyoming's two Master Arborists, I want to bring you the full value of modern Arboriculture and all the knowledge amassed from the international scientific community over the last century of documentation and empirical observation.
Because helping you grow trees, is my life's work. And it is an honor to bring this level of expertise to the Rocky Mountain community from my home in Sheridan, Wyoming.
